Wuthering Heights, in my opinion, is a very well done patch up of literature. The author, Emily Brontë really put herself in Catherines place, quite literally. Critics in the time period that it was released in thought that Wuthering Heights, under the look up of Ellis Bell then, was a very cynical, but potential character of work. Others, however, were in shock over the playscripts dark storyline. When I primary read the book, I was forthwith captured by Brontës take of writing, though many of my friends (and their parents) have told me that was what made them quit adaptation it. I fell in love with the characters, but was immediately turned off of them the next second. Brontë does a very corking job of doing that to the reader, drawing them in, and then pushing them back turn out again. She purposely made the characters so that they would disgust the reader with their abominable conduct, which also appeals to the reader on another level in which they cannot stop reading since, as I said before it draws you.
When you look back at the time period of when the book was written, the characters all seem to have a significant intend behind them, take Heathcliff, for example, he was basically portrays how the upper to heart and soul class was feeling, the fears of them even, towards the working class. Personally, even though this is one of my front-runner books, I do not believe it was written in the right time period. I believe that if it were written much recently, then the appraise it would have gotten would be tenfold the praise in which it received.
