Women In Darfur

Kenneth Sweder is the host of this forecast. He is an attorney who has dedicated himself to community activism and attractership. Kenneth is co-founder of the concretion to save Darfur. Throughout this idiot box we hear from Linda Mason, Liz Walker, and Gloria White. These are any women who take part in trying to help Darfur. This painting informs us that something terrible is going on in Darfur and the Sudan. Firstly, I will explain how this Darfur tragedy begun from my understandings in the video.
Darfur is a thumping province which for years, consisted of many Muslim tribes. Two major tribes in Darfur are the Arab Nomadic Tribes, and the African Settled Tribes. Over the extend century, the African tribes, whose main focus is farming, and the Arab Nomadic Tribes have had fighting with each other, mostly revolving around land. April of 2003 is when this current war begun. The African rebel groups attacked a government military installation in Darfur. They killed many soldiers and for a period of time, they held the local military leader captive. The government responded with this attack. Since then, over 400 villages have been attacked and destroyed. It is most apparent for men and boys to be killed and for the women to be attacked and rapped. One of the main things amongst women has vex gang rape.



It is often the soldiers themselves rapping these women and young girls.
Liz Walker shows a video of when she travelled to Darfur. In the video we see mostly women and families in camps. All of these families have done nothing wrong. Most of them lived on farms and were forced out of their homes to live in small, plastic sheeted tents the size of it of a tiny bathroom. These people are crowded in concert into a tight area when it is usually 100 to cx degrees outside. Liz’s video takes us into these camps where we meet women who want to severalize their stories.
