James and the giant peach is about a boy whose parent die because of something bizarre and he is stuck to brisk with his two wicked aunts. All they have is a peach tree which never produces peaches. One daytime he met an archaic man and the man gave James a bag of crocodile tongues and that is when the punt began.
He has achieved many awards and also has a special day named after him Roald Dahl Day. Roald Dalh day is held on the thirteenth of September in recognition for the Worlds No. 1 Storyteller. It is held on this day because it is his birthday.

Some of his awards include: the American mystery award which he received three times, wins New York Times Outstanding Books Award, compact of Childrens Book Groups Award, Surrey School award, Deutsche Jugendliteraturpreis and the Whitbread Award. One of his most recognised whole kit and caboodle is his culture changing books Charlie and the chocolate factory and James and the giant peach. Charlie and the chocolate factory was made as a movie twice (one old one and one new-made day version). James and the giant peach was also immortalised in a film, the film was nominated for three awards and also won three other awards.
