Throughout the history of the world, the subject of imperialism has had a profound match on civilization. Imperialism, in its height, was extremely competitive and seemed to dominate the ornament of much Europe along with Africa and Asia. Nationalism was one idea that Europeans used to justify imperialism. Many Europeans believed that colonisation was the way to achieve vastness for their nation, and this nationalistic thought was shared by Heinrich von Treitschke, who proclaimed, All enceinte nations in the generousness of their strength have desired to denounce their mark upon barbarian lands. This idea that stronger nations must conquer weaker ones was customary throughout many European countries during the late 19th century. maybe the most obvious example of this was seen in the Scramble for Africa in the late 1800s, where Britain, France, Germany and Italy raced to divide up and claim parts of Africa, eventually placing nearly the entire continent under European rule.



With apiece country struggling for its own economic superiority, this rapid small town spread into Asia, with the United States joining the European countries in colonization with its conquest of the Philippines.
