My personal relationship to literature and reading is reading relaxes me and this allows my mind to flow with the literal I am reading, for instance, if I am reading a book approximately a tropical island, then I can literally imagine myself on that island in my mind. I can whole step the sand, hear the sound of the ocean and smell the air. I in reality tucker out into the tosh. Literature comes from the Latin word litteraura, which means an originative or creative body of written progress to from a particular language, period or culture. A piece of work is literary when a person expresses themselves freely and writes from their heart, without borders or boundaries. I dont think anyone can truly define what is or is not literature; that is up to the individual writer, ground on the definition of literature which is a creative or imaginative body of written work.

I am engaged by all genre of reading from fiction to non-fiction. I cull fictional reading because it is based on the writer imaginativeness or creative pretense and not necessarily facts. I can usually identify with some portion of the story based on my own life experiences.
