A Dying Tradition
Marriage is seen as a sacred ritual which brings two people unitedly for eternity, but can this ritual still be considered legal proof of two peoples commitment for each other? Time has moved forward and with it peoples ideas. We no longer believe the earth is flat or that it is the center of the universe. Nor do we think that not attending church service is a sign of being in league with morning star and the only way to prove your innocence is to burn you alive. So why do we still practice this aged ritual, isnt it time that we move past it, or does it contain virtu every last(predicate)y sort of ultimate truth which has kept it alive all these centuries. Many of todays authors such as Dennis Prager and David Popenoe (who is associated with The guinea pig Marriage Project, a group which works to strengthen the innovation of espousal by providing people with statistics and analysis of the subject), argue that marriage can improve a couples copulation to one another and even improve society as a whole. Could this possibly be true? I disaccord with these authors and say that marriage is an outdated institution and dying usage in todays society, and for this reason it needs to be rid of, or reformed completely.

David Popenoe states, Today, there is much family diversity: Fewer adults are married, more are break or remaining single, and more are living(a) together outside of marriage or living alone. (674). So, times are changing, people have realized that marriage is not a necessary part of life, but why does this have to be a bad thing? If anything, this new way of living and thinking should be accepted, after all, only by hard new things will we see whether they will be stiff or not.
