The lesson that was spy was a year five mathematics lesson and the learning objective that was formulated for the class was to use an informal method to multiply, in this faux pas the power system method was being taught. In my idea the lesson was very good, it flowed really well, the children seemed to be enjoying themselves and were concentrating for the majority of the time. The teacher utilize some good resources which she use effectively for example, the individual whiteboards, how she used them effectively will be discussed in the essay. In accession to this, an interactive whiteboard was used for the main teaching part of the lesson nonwithstanding I see that it was not used to its full emf in enabling the children to fulfil the learning objectives. Discussion betwixt the teacher, teaching assistants and between the pupils was used a lot passim the lesson, the teacher also used a lot of questions which allows the children the cipher about what they are learning. These two approaches will be explained march on in the essay.
The main part of the lesson was held on the carpet cogitate on the interactive whiteboard. This type of resource can be very good to use in the classroom as it accomodates for different learning styles of the pupils and as Pritchard (2005:69) suggests when pupils are taught with approaches and resources that complement their incident learning styles, their achievement is significantly increased. The teacher in this case however, does not use the interactive whiteboard to its full potential and does not cater for all the variations of learning styles in the classroom.
