Introduction
The receive of this assignment is to identify and analyse the ways in which I have monitored and assessed pupils progress and achievement over a sequence of lessons both summatively and formatively. Through the course of this essay, I will identify the ways in which my work with the separate addresses the Professional Standards for the QTS relating to Monitoring and Assessment. (QTS Standards S3.2.1 to 3.2.7). The group I will be focusing this study on are a mix ability Year 12 group studying OCR level 2 Certificate in Administration. I taught and assessed them on social unit 1 Preparing Business Communications section of the course. They were assessed both summatively and formatively. Summative discernment took the form of a classroom based examen paper during which they conformed to an exam type situation.
Formative assessment was on-going throughout lessons taught through discussion, active questioning, tasks and homework all of which enabled me to offend effective feedback to the students. I will discuss these two types of assessment throughout the course of this essay.
The unit spanned over a extent of seven lessons with each lesson lasting two and half hours. The acquirement outcomes of this section are that candidates must demonstrate the ability to call complex culture, extract relevant material and present information accurately using standard format and devising impound presentation for specified purposes.
