Analysis of an Example of Figure of Language on the
The bed Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.
Thomas Stearns T. S. Eliot was born in kinfolk 1888 in America and was naturalized as a British
subject in 1927 . He was an important English-language poet of the 20th Century. The Love Song of J. Alfred
Prufrock is known as his masterpiece, considered the first modernist poem which was followed by other
well-known poems as Gerontion, The Waste Land, The Hallow Men, alter Wednesday and Four Quartets.
Thomas Stearns was awarded with the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1948.
On his poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock, he uses imagery, synecdochic language, and structure
to reinforce the tone and aspect of isolation in life. He focuses on the feelings and thoughts of the persona, J.
Alfred Pruforck. A man that is socially uncouth which makes it difficult to approach to the woman he loves
and declare his love. exclusively the way through the streets he agonizes thinking that he doesnt deserve the answer
he is expecting to have about his hymeneals proposal. And he speaks about the streets using figures of
language like, the anaphora where he repeats words like yellow and upon in the beginning of sentences
or clauses.
The yellow fog that rubs its stomach upon the window-panes,
The yellow smoke that rubs its fit on the window-panes
Lingered upon the pools that stand in drains,
Let fall upon its back the soot that falls from chimneys,
