El Niño is a part of what’s known as the grey Oscillation. El Niño occurs only in certain time periods and it refers to an irregular fast of the seas heighten. More specifically it’s where ocean temperatures in the easterly peaceful induce to rise and cause worldwide shifts in weather across the Pacific region, mainly South America. The Southern Oscillation is the reversing of uprise air obligate between the easterly tropical and Hesperian tropical Pacific. This basically means that when the surface pressure is high in the eastern tropical Pacific, the pressure is low in the western tropical Pacific. Why this happens is because the Pacific receives more sunlight throughout the year and this heat is accordingly stored on the surface of the ocean. The naturally occurring trade winds blow from east to west pulling warmed water with it as well. When tank water deeper in the ocean is lifted to the surface this creates a temperature gradient running along the equator called thermocline tilt, but the thermocline tilt fanny be shifted. What makes the thermocline tilt shift is the weakening trade winds transferring warmer water from the western Pacific Ocean to the east. The moving of western waters to the east flattens the thermocline tilt.
This flattening causes a build up of warm surface water in the eastern Pacific which begins a process of temperature increase in central and eastern Pacific regions. Due to the fact that this tends to occur during Christmas, fisherman called it “El Niño” meaning “the boy-child”.
El Niño hindquarters have a fairly large impact on the climate which in turn can affect the habitat of living organisms. Under normal conditions, crucial nutrients are brought to the surface via deep cool ocean waters. When the thermocline tilt is flattened the nutrients of the coldness water is prevented by the warm water. The fish then begin to die due to lack of food. The effects of El Niño are also seen...If you want to get a full essay, order it on our website: Orderessay
